What would us girlies do without the wonderful women who have gone before us and set the trends? There are the iconic women from music, film and politics (think Jackie O) but we also have some fabulous women leading the way right now.
Here are some of my favourites...
The Olsen twins get it spot on nearly all of the time and I love the fact they are not scared to try new things. Sienna Miller and Kate Moss have it nailed but they appear to follow past icons such as Blondie. I think the Olsen girls set their own trends, aren't followers and, are ones to watch Stateside.
Other actresses who always seemed to get it right were the old greats Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Bridget Bardot, Sofia Loren... Such elegrance, style and well put together outfits. These women were women and, dressed as such. Always sexy but stylish, without trying too hard. They dressed for themselves, not to please.
Then there is Michelle Obama. A classic woman of our time, who has the same classic elegance of Jackie O. A mother, wife, intelligent yet fashionable First Lady. You get the impression these women really were the driving force behind their impressive men. Michelle may be pictured in Wellington boots tending to her vegetable patch at the White House or in an apron as she serves up dinner to the homeless in Washington DC. However, her most iconic moment was coming down those stairs at the Inauguration Party, with a newly elected President of the United States of America, in a dress which was quite simply, stunning. It was all eyes on her that night... just as it should be.

Best London Bars and Pubs
Whenever friends visit, they ask what are the best bars to go to whilst here. There are countless recommendations on the net but are they any good? Here is my list of top watering holes in this great, wonderful, liquid loving city.
1. Lounge Lover, East London
One of the most exciting bars you can visit - cool, expensive, a bit too hip for its own good but definitely worth a visit.
2. Lansdowne Pub, Primrose Hill
Famed for its 'don't give a ....' staff, this local pub is always packed with Primrose Hillbillies and celebs galore. Past drinkers here include Jude Law, Sienna Miller, Natalie Portman, Steve Jones etc etc
3. Lab Bar, Soho
Best cocktails in London. Based in the heart of Soho, this ordinary looking bar from the outside is famous for its fantastic cocktails and knowledgeable bar staff.
4. Dream Bags Jaguar Shoes
Always packed, sweaty, cheap, loud music - everything you want from a night out in E London.
5. Holly Bush, Hampstead
Like a good old country pub but in central London. Near Hampstead station yet off the beaten track, nothing beats a cold winter's afternoon in this pub. Roaring fire an added bonus.
