The Great Selby

It's nearly time for me to go flat hunting again so I'm looking for inspiration and I found it right here...

Mad Men

Replacing my SATC fix is Mad Men. Loosely based on the advertising world of the 60s, this series is brilliant - it's all about smoking, sex, scotch and sales. And of course, the fashion. Dapper suits, crisp white shirts, nipped in waists and classic prom dresses.

5 YEARS ON...

Talking to a friend today who has just returned from New Orleans, I heard that Katrina's legacy still lives on with many parts left abandoned and families still unable to return home. Surely it's time the people of New Orleans get the help the rest of the world thought they already had...?

The Lovely Luella Book

Can't Christmas come a little sooner this year? I can hardly wait just so I can get this book.

Luella celebrates English style and explains how to acquire it in case you didn't know. She also talks about the English girl's approach to love and shows how the English girl gets better with age. How very true.

With Luella's background as a supercool London designer, as well as stints at Vogue and the London Evening Standard, Ms Bartley is well placed to speak on the subject.

Luella's Guide to English Style will be published 14 October for £20.

Long live the Bradshaw!

gym bunny

I have finally understood why men enjoy the gym and women don't. Men like to look at themselves in the mirror without being called vain, they like to inflict pain on themselves and sweat until they almost pass out. Women (and I am talking about myself) like to lose weight without an audience, without pain and whilst looking good.

That doesn't mean I don't have all the kit though...
