She may have had 8 husbands, a dear friendship with Wacko Jacko and a penchant for diamonds but at the end of the day, Elizabeth Taylor was one of our finest exports, the last of the old school glamour stars.

She was born Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor in North London and died, 79 years later Dame Elizabeth Taylor with several Oscars, several children and having raised millions for AIDS Research. When asked why she had married so many times, she said "I don't know, honey. It sure beats the hell out of me."
